This fall break was definitely needed. I was so drained and had SO much fun having a couple days off of school. My fall break can be classified into 3 “C’s”…car rides, castles, and just plain craziness.

CAR RIDES: I probably spent a good 13 hours or so in a car over these past few days. For someone who lives kind of far away, that’s not too bad; but for someone who lives down I-85 in Charlotte, that’s a long time. The reason for that was that I went to the Atlanta area for a few days to spend time with my boyfriend’s family. I am SO glad I don’t live in Atlanta. I could never deal with that traffic. Going down on a Friday night was awful. I felt like the whole country was trying to drive in the same direction as us!! But the good thing was that I wasn’t driving so I took a couple naps :)

CASTLES: For any of you who have ever driven down I-85 through Georgia, you might have noticed a beautiful French castle on the side of the road. I personally love French things so ever since the first time I saw it, I’ve wanted to go there. Since traffic couldn’t get much worse anyway, we stopped at the castle on our way to Atlanta. It’s BEAUTIFUL! We didn’t spend too much time there, but the vineyards and restaurants and just the open countryside was really exciting for me to see up close. Now I just hope to go to France someday and see how it compares! (FYI…our Honors program is studying abroad in Paris this spring! One of our many chances to study in another country. I just won’t be able to go this year.)

CRAZINESS: Fall Break seemed to pass by so quickly! One of the most interesting things I saw was a crazy guy driving through Atlanta slamming on his breaks in the middle of the highway. All of a sudden, we saw a huge cloud of smoke and he was just randomly stopping and trying to cause a wreck! It was so ridiculous. But all in all, it was a wonderful break. Unfortunately, we’re all back to hit the books!
